lacey lilac

true story: i have a friend from college named lacey who loves the color purple. about a year ago, i saw a bottle of sally hansen xtreme wear lacey lilac at the store and thought, "aha! this is the perfect little present for my friend lacey." well, i bought her a bottle and gave it to her when i saw her next. . . . and she not only already had a bottle, she was wearing it on her fingers. doh. but i gave it to her anyway and she was happy to have a back-up bottle. at least i knew she liked it, right?

well after i gave my bottle away, i decided i really needed one for myself too. and i finally got around to wearing it (about a year later):

2 coats sally hansen xtreme wear lacey lilac

this is such an interesting (and i think unique) shade. it's kind of a bright blue-leaning pastel purple. it's a lot brighter and more saturated than a lot of pale purples (like china glaze light as air). as you can see in the 2nd pic, it can lean almost periwinkle in some lighting. i'm liking this a lot more than i thought i would. i especially like that it's more blue-toned than pink-toned. i used to own revlon lilac pastelle, and it looked 99% pink on me. bleh.

btw, sally hansen xtreme wears are on sale at walgreens this whole month- buy 2 get 1 free! now would be an excellent time to pick up this one and pacific blue (which is awesome!). the xtreme wear line is definitely one of my favorites as their polishes are super cheap ($2.50-$3.00, depending on where you shop), and they have the smoothest, most opaque, most easy to apply pastels. mint sorbet is a great one too!
