31DC2012 DAY 16: glitter

i could've chosen a myriad of other glitter polishes from my stash for this day of the challenge. seriously, there is a crapload of glitter going on in my ever-growing collection. but i decided to try this one, simply because it's an untried and it looked pretty in the bottle.

2 coats wet 'n wild color icon diamond in the rough

diamond in the rough is from the 2011 "ice baby" collection, and contains small charcoal-colored glitter and larger silver holographic glitter in a clear base. it only took me 2 coats for total opacity! nice. i don't normally wear such tough colors (i'm more of a pastel girly-girl), but the holo glitter made it pretty :).

the name of this polish is another reason i like it. diamond in the rough makes me think of aladdin (one of my most favoritest disney movies ever~!).

side story about aladdin: my husband and i were watching a version of "arabian nights" on netflix recently, and when scheherazade  got to the story about aladdin, she described him as a poor chinese boy in love with a chinese princess. i'm sorry. . . . what?? he's not arabian? princess jasmine didn't have a pet tiger? no talking parrot? next you're going to tell me that aladdin didn't sing "a whole new world". . . . i was one disappointed disney fan. but i still like the movie.

  1. I have the Sally Hansen Gems version of this and I can't believe I still haven't tried it. Looks great!

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I waited a long time to try this one too.... I have a bad habit of frantically hunting down a polish I really want, then squirreling it away and forgetting about it. Hehe oops.

  2. I have the China Glaze version of this polish 'Some Like it Haute'. Mine seems to dry more grittier than this. But it is a beautiful polish, nonetheless. And I seem to be afflicted by the squirreling bug too. Love reading your posts :)

    1. I took my pictures right after applying top coat, but it definitely dried grittier (just FYI). Thanks :)
